Margvelashvili Welcomes Zurabishvili to Presidential Palace

Outgoing President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili welcomed President-Elect Salome Zurabishvili to the Avlabari Presidential Residence on December 3.

Margvelashvili and Salome Zurabishvili discussed the presidential transition process and Georgia’s internal and external policies.

The current President personally congratulated Zurabishvili on her victory and wished success in her future endeavors for the welfare of Georgia.

For her part, the President-Elect thanked Margvelashvili for the smooth transfer of power, underway in a democratic environment.

“I am grateful that our meeting was held so promptly, it is very correct that transition took place in such a manner,” Zurabishvili said.

The meeting was attended by Lasha Zhvania, who is expected to head the new Administration of the President.
