Georgian FM Meets NATO Secretary General

Within the framework of the NATO Foreign Ministerial, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, David Zalkaliani met with the Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels.

Zalkaliani assessed the meeting as extremely positive, adding during it Georgia once again received very positive assessments.

"We had very positive evaluations related to Georgia's integration into the Euro-Atlantic space even before the meeting. Our reforms in defense, security, democratization and strengthening of state institutions merited very positive appraisal. It was once again noted that Georgia has all the practical tools for membership in the Alliance,” Zalkaliani said.

He said the meetings in Brussels discuss developments in Georgia’s breakaway regions and Russian aggression in the region.

The Ministerial took place on December 4-5.
