Zurabishvili to Invite Vashadze to Inauguration if He Recognizes Her as President

President-Elect of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, says she will invite her opponent of the November 28 runoff, candidate of the United Opposition Grigol Vashadze, to the inauguration on December 16, if he recognizes her as President.

Vashadze has many times repeated since the elections that he does not recognize Zurabishvili as President, claiming the elections were forged and if not for the ruling Georgian Dream's support, she would not have won the race.

The inauguration ceremony will be held in Telavi, the administrative center of Georgia's eastern province of Kakheti, known as the winemaking part of the country.

Before Zurabishvili’s comment, Vashadze stated he did not care where the ceremony would be held, adding Zurabishvili is the GD’s president only.

The United Opposition is to hold a protest rally on inauguration day in central Tbilisi. The protesters demand early parliamentary elections.
