Zurabishvili’s Meeting with the Ambassador of the EU to Georgia – Carl Hartzell
The new President-Elect of Georgia, Salome Zurabishivili, has held an official meeting with Ambassador of the EU to Georgia Carl Hartzell.
The main objective of the meeting was to discuss the plans of Zurabishvili after inauguration. The new President outlined the reconciliation process with Georgian society as her main priority.
“The Ambassador asked me about my future work plans and about the meaning of reconciliation process for me. We also had a conversation related to the further partnership of Georgia with the European Union,” stated Zurabishvili.
The EU Ambassador claimed the European Union supports this significant decision about national reconciliation.
“It was the first opportunity after the second round of the elections for me to meet and personally congratulate the President on her victory,” said Hartzell. The Ambassador also mentioned they discussed a number of issues, such as the inauguration and their future objectives. Hartzell noted the pledges of Zurabishvili will be supported by the EU and stated he will attend the inauguration ceremony. Finally, he focused on the importance of holding such meetings in future.
