Queen Elizabeth II Sends Congratulatory Message to Salome Zurabishvili

Today, December 16, the inauguration ceremony of the first ever female President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili took place at the Batoni Palace in Telavi. The event was attended by a number of guests, including 150 representatives from around 55 countries. The former President of France Nicola Sarkozy was also among the guests.

The leaders of different countries have sent warm wishes to the new President of Georgia today. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has also congratulated Salome Zurabishvili.

“I would like to extend my sincere congratulation on your inauguration as President of Georgia. I send my best wishes to you and the people of Georgia and look forward to continuing the excellent relations between our two countries,” – was stated in the official letter of Queen Elizabeth II.
