PM Wishes Happy New Year to Georgians

Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze congratulated every citizen of Georgia with the New Year.

In his address, the PM expressed hope that 2019 will be successful and full of opportunities for Georgia.

"I wish a Happy New Year to our Abkhazian and Ossetian citizens too! I believe we will make common decisions for a better future. We can imagine our future only together with you,” Bakhtadze said, referring to the Georgian population living across the occupation line in Georgia’s breakaway regions.

The PM wished a happy New Year to Georgian people living abroad, also to Georgian servicemen participating in international missions, policemen, border guards, rescuers, doctors and people performing their duties on New Year.

“I know many families still live in poverty … I assure you all efforts are being made to overcome our most painful challenge – poverty. A new economic policy and fair rules that we have introduced will bring results and every family will feel positive changes,” he stated.

Bakhtadze added that Georgia as a country needs new ideas, a new vision, bold and quick decisions.

“This energy is in our youth, who are the future of our country. I want to congratulate young people on the New Year and tell them that education will be our priority in 2019. I believe that we all have the resources and opportunities to be a successful country where each family lives in dignity,” he said.
