President and PM Hold First Working Meeting
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili and Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze held their first working meeting today. The meeting was held at the Atoneli presidential palace, Zurabishvili’s residency whilst in office.
The meeting’s purpose was “addressing their cooperation and future communications, as well as their positions on current events and their plans for future international trips,” posted Salome Zurabishvili on Twitter.
The pair also discussed foreign trips. Zurabishvili will visit Brussels as her first official visit abroad since becoming president where she will meet officials from NATO and the EU.
Zurabishvili will be president for 6 years. The parliamentary model of governance undertaken in Georgia means her role is mostly symbolic.
