Animation Film of Georgian Director to Be Presented at Berlinale
‘Armed Lullaby’- a work of the Georgian Director Yana Ugrekhelidze based in Austria-Germany, will be screened at the Berlinale International Film Festival taking place February 7-17, 2019.
The animation film is based on the actual events of the armed conflict in the region of Abkhazia. A feature which makes it especially interesting is the representation of the plot through the perspective of four children attempting to leave Sukhumi using different means of transport: boat, plane, train and on foot through the snowy and mountainous Svaneti region of Georgia.
The work was produced with the support of Film und MedienStiftung and Kunsthochschule für Medien.
‘Armed Lullaby’ will be shown at Berlinale on February 11.
The Berlin International Film Festival is one of the largest public film festivals in the world, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from around the globe each year. It was first launched in 1951. In 2019, Berlinale will present the concept: ‘Giving the Oppressed a Voice’
