Acting US Ambassador Calls on Russia to Withdraw Troops

Acting United States Ambassador to Georgia, Ross Wilson, has called on the Russian Federation to withdraw its troops from Georgia’s occupied territories Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

In his interview with Adjara TV, the acting ambassador said that Georgia has to restore full control over its territories.

“The United States recognizes the territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders, does not recognize the independence of the occupied territories and does not recognize the desire of another state to deploy its military forces in that area,” he stated.

Ross Wilson said the solution to this conflict will be the beginning of a new chapter in the life of Georgia and the entire region.
