Carl Hartzell: Georgia is Very Good, Reliable Partner of EU
European Union Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell says Georgia is considered a very good, reliable partner for the EU.
The Ambassador said the Association Council meeting will be held in Brussels in several weeks and the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mamuka Bakhtadze, will attend it.
“I want to point out that a good atmosphere and good mood is waiting for the Georgian PM there… Cooperation with the EU is developing at a very good pace. This forum will be held in Brussels, where critical comments will be made, particularly regarding how to strengthen structural reforms and better use the opportunities provided by the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, especially in the trade segment,” he told journalists.
Hartzell added that another topic discussed at the meeting will likely be some shortcomings that were observed during the October presidential elections in Georgia.
“These shortcomings are indicated in nearly in every report and should be discussed in order to better prepare for the 2020 elections,” he said.
