Machalikashvilis Demand Money Seized during Special Op
The family of Temirlan Machalikashvili, a 19-year-old killed during a special operation in Pankisi Gorge, is demanding the State Security Service return the GEL 22.575 ($8.544) seized from their house during the special operation.
The information was released by the lawyer of the Machalikashvili family, Mariam Kublashvili.
“All investigative actions have been completed, the verdict has been delivered and the origin of the money has been established. So the money should be returned to the family,” she said.
Temirlan Machalikashvili was wounded in village Duisi in his own bed on December 26, 2017. On January 10, he died in the hospital.
Georgian law-enforcers claim that Machalikashvili was shot when he tried to detonate a grenade. However, the family and relatives say that he was sleeping when law-enforcers shot him without warning.
The family also rejects the allegations that the deceased had links with the terrorist group.
