Georgia's Defense Minister Holds Meetings in Armenia
Minister of Defense of Georgia Levan Izoria is paying an official visit to Armenia.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Izoria on Thursday, highlighting the deepening and development of friendly relations between the two states in various spheres.
Pashinyan remembered his meeting with Georgian PM Mamuka Bakhtadze in Bolnisi in January, noting that the existing friendly and working atmosphere between Armenia and Georgia will foster the expansion of cooperation and raise it to a new level.
The Ministry of Defense of Georgia reports that the sides discussed issues of strengthening stability in the region and boosting the defense cooperation between the two countries.
“We underlined the necessity of maintaining stability in the region and peaceful regulation of conflicts. The support we are enjoying in terms of implementation of the non-recognition policy of the occupied territories was once again reiterated at the meeting. We are committed to further strengthening stability and security in the region within the bilateral and multilateral cooperation formats,” Izoria said.
The Ministry of Defense informs that within the frameworks of his official visit to Armenia, Minister Izoria met with his Armenian counterpart Davit Tonoyan and they signed the bilateral cooperation plan.
At a press briefing after the meeting, Izoria highlighted that he and his Armenian colleague had a productive discussion on deepening relations between the two defense ministries.
“I would like to note a new direction of cooperation, such as strengthening discipline. Within this framework, the Georgian side stands ready to convey its advanced track-record to the Armenian colleagues,” news.am quoted Izoria.
The Georgian Minister also met Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan within the frames of his official visit to the Republic of Armenia.
