Minister of Finance Meets with Charge D’Affairs at the US Embassy
Ivane Matchavariani, the Minister of Finance of Georgia, has held a meeting with Ambassador Ross Wilson, Charge D’Affairs at the US Embassy. The parties discussed issues regarding the collaboration between the two countries.
It was noted at the meeting that the strategic partnership between Georgia and the USA is also reflected on the scale of economic support.
Ivane Matchavariani informed the guest regarding the upcoming reforms in the tax and custom spheres, aimed at the amelioration of the business environ and facilitation of administering in the sector. The Minister of Finance stated the given initiative will contribute to the better involvement of American and international companies in the process of making investments in Georgia.
The parties strongly focused on the assistance of the USA towards the Ministry of Finance of Georgia in terms of improving the capabilities of the fiscal services in the country.
Minister Matchavariani expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for the support of the Government of the USA towards the Georgian Government generally, and specifically regarding the developments in the professional and higher education sectors, and noted that the education field is one of the major priorities for the country.
Charge D’Affairs Ross Wilson expressed his readiness for the continuation of work on the advancement of the close partnership between Georgia and the USA.
