Georgian Wine Exhibits at ProWein 2019 in Germany
27 Georgian wine companies are exhibiting their wines at the ProWein 2019 exhibition in Dusseldorf Germany on 19 March.
Over 60 countries from around the world present their products at the annual international wine and alcohol exhibition. Around 60,000 visitors from over 133 different countries will attend the event, the biggest of its kind of the world.
Levan Mekhuzla, chairman of the National Wine Agency of Georgia, explained that Georgia has been participating in the event since 2000. “ProWein is the world’s largest exhibition...Interest from Georgian companies is growing and this year Georgia has presented 27 companies. This way, we will reinforce Georgia’s name on the world’s wine culture and winemaking map,” he said.
During the event, Georgian companies Winery Chelti and Winery Vaziani were presented with the awards that they had previously won at the MUNDUS VINI European wine competition. Winery Chelti was awarded four gold medals and one prestigious ‘grand gold’ medal and Winery Vaziani received one gold medal.
