Georgia, Uruguay Agree to Deepen Relations
Georgia and Uruguay are to boost cooperation. The decision was made at the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the two countries in Montevideo.
Uruguayan Foreign Minister Rodolfo Nin Novoa told his Georgian counterpart David Zalkaliani that both countries face similar challenges.
It was noted that contacts established over the past few years between the executive and legislative branches of the governments of Uruguay and Georgia are "quite close."
The sides welcomed the fact that the positions of Georgia and Uruguay coincide on globally important issues and processes.
Zalkaliani thanked his Uruguayan counterpart for his government’s support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and provided him with information regarding the developments in the occupied regions of Georgia.
It was highlighted that Georgia’s strategic location and its free trade agreements with the world’s leading economies makes Georgia attractive for international investors.
The parties also discussed cooperation in business, tourism, education, and culture. High interest was expressed in the development of agriculture and animal husbandry.
