PM: We Appreciate NGO Involvement in Georgia's Euro-Integration Process

Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze opened a joint conference of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Platform and the Government of Georgia on March 29, noting that the government appreciates the involvement of the civil sector in Georgia’s Euro-integration process.

About 250 non-governmental organizations from throughout the region are attending the forum. All of them have their own stands to introduce their activities to guests.

The PM talked about the importance of civil society activities and noted that the NGO sector plays a crucial role in the development of various directions of the country.

“This conference facilitates the development of dialogue and cooperation in the most important areas of our country. As the head of the government, I want to reiterate the government's readiness to be an active participant of this dialogue. It is particularly important and pleasant that the civil sector is broadly represented from the regions of Georgia at the event today. A modern democratic state is unimaginable without a strong and professional civil sector,” he said.

Bakhtadze added that the civil sector is involved in the practical implementation of the ongoing reforms under the EU-Georgia Association Agreement and in addition, they participated in the formation of a new association agenda, which sets forth the steps that are to be taken by the end of 2020.
