Czech Republic Includes Georgia on Safe Country List
The Czech Republic has included Georgia on its list of safe countries in a decision made by the Czech Interior Ministry.
Along with Bulgaria, France, Liechtenstein, Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands, Iceland, Luxemburg, Ireland, Estonia and Denmark, the Czech Republic represents the 12th country in the EU/Schengen Zone to make this decision regarding Georgia.
The resolution has already been put into force. Starting today, the applications of the Georgian citizens, seeking asylum will be considered through an accelerated timeframe.
"The decision made by the Czech side once again accentuates the positive environ regarding the human rights and security, political stability and economic development in Georgia recognized by our partners. The applications of asylum seekers from Georgia will be discussed through an accelerated procedure. The decision of the Czech Republic has already come into force," reads the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
