GD Names Mayoral Candidates in Zestaponi, Chiatura

Ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party has named its mayoral candidates in the West Georgia towns – Zestaponi and Chiatura.

GD candidate in Chiatura is Givi Modebadze. He was presented by majority leader Archil Talakvadze, ruling party lawmaker Givi Chichinadze and Health Minister Davit Sergeenko.

In Zestaponi, Giorgi Goglichidze will be the mayoral candidate of the ruling party.

While presenting the candidate to the locals, Talakvadze said Goglichidze “is an educated, principled and decent person.”

“When I shook hands with him [Goglichidze], I was one again persuaded that there are no limited possibilities. There is a limited environment and we all need to open and improve this environment,” the majority leader said.

Parliamentary, municipality and mayoral by-elections will be held in Georgia on May 19.
