Georgia’s Davitadze Sets Record at European Weightlifting Championship 2019

Sportsman Revaz Davitadze, who is a member of the Georgian national weightlifting team, won a gold medal in the snatch, setting a record in the U23 category at the ongoing 2019 European Weightlifting Championship in Batumi.

Davitadze, 20, the current European champion and medalist of the world championship, has already retained the title in one discipline.  

He successfully used three tries (164, 167, 170 kg). In the third attempt in a snatch, Davitadze took 170 kg and improved the previous record by 2 kg in the U23 category.

At the 2018 European Championships in Bucharest, Davitadze took first place in the snatch and won a gold medal for the total score.

2019 European Senior Weightlifting Championships is underway in Georgia’s Black Sea coastal city of Batumi on April 06-13.
