Estonian and Russian Presidents Discuss the Issue of Georgia
The President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid, paying an official visit to Moscow, and her Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had a conversation regarding the issue of Georgia at the official meeting held in Kremlin on April 18.
“We discussed the current situation in Ukraine, as well as in Georgia. I said that I had traveled to the conflict zones in both countries. We have considered the possible scenario for the conflict resolution. I outlined that as Estonia is the member of the European Union, it fully supports the European position regarding the territorial integrity of Georgia and Ukraine,” stated Kaljulaid at the press-conference, which took place after the meeting.
The President of Estonia also noted that the issues internally displaced persons (IDPs) were considered at the meeting.
“Even though we have different viewpoints, talks are necessary. I did not expect us to reach a consensus,” said Kaljulaid.
