MP Levan Koberidze Leaves Georgian Dream

Levan Koberidze, MP for the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party, announced this afternoon that he was leaving Georgian Dream.

Koberidze announced that he would not join another political group for the time being and he will continue to work independently as an MP, reported Interpress News.

His decision follows a spate of MPs leaving the party. Earlier this year GD members Eka Beselia, Levan Gogichaishvili, Gedevan Popkhadze, and Zviad Kvachantiradze left the party following a dispute over the appointment of Supreme Court candidate judges.

Koberidze reportedly left the party due to amendments regarding the Law of Common Courts, which was adopted by Parliament after its third reading.
