Georgian Citizens Living Abroad to Receive Free Passports in May
On the initiative of the Minister of Justice, citizens of Georgia abroad will receive biometric passports free of charge from May 1 to June 1.
“Getting a passport free of charge is a great relief for our compatriots abroad. Citizens of Georgia who are abroad and have an expired passport are unable to cross the border and perform other legal procedures, including voting. The implementation of the Ministry of Justice’s latest campaign will solve these problems.
Georgian citizens residing abroad wishing to obtain a biometric passport can apply to Georgia’s diplomatic representations or consular offices abroad.
Those aged between 12 and 18 years and adults who have at least once owned a biometric passport of Georgian citizenship can apply online as their biometric data will have been stored.
