Tsinandali Festival, September 8-22
While everyone is setting plans for the hottest season, there is a wonderful opportunity to get ready for the upcoming fall, as the historic Tsinandali Estate, located in the heart of the region of Kakheti, is to transform into a unique venue, offering a real celebration of Classical music. It is certainly going to be a go-to destination for the enthusiasts of this music genre, as during the first edition of the 15-day Tsinandali Festival, organized in collaboration with the government of Georgia and generous private donors, you will have an incredible chance to listen to the masterpieces of the world-renown composers. The Festival will bring together the greatest performers, conductors, music scholars, composers, as well as artist from all around the globe, including Mischa Maisky, Lisa Batiashvili, Gianandrea Noseda, Jukka-Pekka Saraste and others.
The daytime and evening concerts will take place at the 600-seat Chamber Music Hall and a 1200-seat Amphitheatre, distinguished with the architecture and acoustics. Along with the performances, Tsinandali is a wonderful destination for those, who would like to explore the palace of Prince Alexander Chavchavadze and its magnificent gardens, try the unique Georgian wine and discover the authentic methods of winemaking, as the region of Kakheti the province is famous for viniculture.
Within the scope of the Tsinandali Festival, it is also planned to launch the Pan Caucasian Youth Orchestra for young musicians aged 18-29 under the guidance of Noseda, the Musical Director of the event.
Tsinandali Festival is a Georgian non-profit foundation, primarily aimed at the promotion of the language of music in the region of Caucasus.
“The Festival is designed to create rare opportunities for young musicians from the Caucasus and neighboring countries to explore the world of music and advance their musical education through professional seminars and master classes taught by some of the brightest names in today’s classical music,” reads the preview of the event.
