Voting Ends in Mtatsminda Constituency
The voting process is over in Mtatsminda district of Tbilisi. All polling stations were closed at 8:00 pm. The process of counting votes started immediately.
Georgians head to the polls today to elect an MP in the Mtsatsminda district of Tbilisi.
A total of 31 polling stations were opened at 8:00 A.M. this morning. In total, 43 909 voters were registered for the second round of the majoritarian MP by-elections.
Two candidates - the opposition candidate, # 13 Shalva Shavgulidze and the ruling Georgian Dream party candidate - # 41 Vladimer Kakhadze were facing each other in the second round of the elections.
The second round of elections was necessary as none of the candidates managed to overcome the 50 percent threshold during the first round held on May 19.
