President Zurabishvili Attends SDG Festival
Georgia’s President Salome Zurabishvili attended UN’s SDG Festival, which took place in Ambrolauri, Racha, Georgia on Friday, June 7.
The SDGs comprise 17 global goals that were adopted by all the member states of the United Nations in September 2015, with the aim of ending poverty, eliminating inequality and saving the planet by 2030.
The SDG Festival in Racha was meant to highlight the potential and efforts of Racha region and Georgia as whole to achieve Sustainable Development Goal.
Under the scope of the festival President Zurabishvili took a tour in Racha’s famous winery “Royal Khvanchkara” and around the town of Ambrolauri, visiting the spots of the SDG Festival.
“Racha has great potential in Sustainable Development. This region needs promotion and I’m here to promote,” President Zurabishvili mentioned in an interview with the media.
At the grand opening of the festival in the evening, President Zurabishvili addressed the participants and guests, saying that “Racha has everything tourists around the globe are looking for.”
