President of Georgia Visits Israel

President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili discussed the deepening of relations between Georgia and Israel on an official state visit.

Margvelashvili discussed the importance of multi-century friendship between Georgia and Israel with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin. They further discussed the current economic cooperation between the states, and Georgia's geopolitical role in strengthening ties between the West and the East. 

Israel offically welcomed Margvelashvili with a welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace of Israel. The event was attended by the First Ladies of Georgia and Israel as well. 

“After the official welcoming ceremony the leaders of the two countries Giorgi Margvelashvili and Reuven Rivlin held face-to-face and extended meetings.”

According to Margvelashvili, Georgia considers Israel as an important partner, and in such unpredictable situations, cooperation and coordination is a key to success.

During the meeting, Margvelashvili condemned all types of terrorism.
