Success of ‘Georgia – Homeland of Wine’ in France

‘Georgia – Homeland of Wine’, the work of the Georgian filmmaker Alexander Gabunia, has come out on top at the largest and the most important cinematography festival about wine and winemaking called Oenovideo, held Marseille, France. It obtained a Special Science & Culture Prize at the event. This award is traditionally attributed to the films, introducing cultural and scientific approaches to viniculture and wine heritage.

The documentary, based on the scientific study of the Georgian and International experts of the field, and representing the history of Georgian wine, as well as the ancient traditions used in Georgia for winemaking, was among 37 nominees and 15 winners, selected out of the 144 participating films.  

Gabunia launched the film with the support of the National Wine Agency.

The Oenovideo Festival took place on June 13-16.
