Giorgi Gakharia Comments on the Protest

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Gakharia commented on the protest and clashes happening between the protestors and the police officers.   

The Minister called the events that have taken place today “truly tragic”.

Gakharia announced that the attack on state’s institutions and the police will have reasonable outcomes and strict laws will be used to punish the responsible.

The Minister of Internal Affairs addressed the protestors and generalized his announcement to the whole population. “I ask our people to let the policemen do their job, without becoming violent in response to men just doing their duty,” said Gakharia.

Gakharia said that upon necessity, he will resign. Yet, he is not planning on leaving his post. When asked who is responsible for the cause, he answered that the Parliament Chairman is responsible for the management of each event.
