De-facto Abkhazia Closes So-called Border
The de-facto government of occupied Abkhazia has closed the so-called border. According to the Abkhazian media, the reason behind this decision is the protests held in Georgia, including Zugdidi, a city in the Samegrelo Region of Western Georgia, which is located close to the so-called border.
As Abkhazian media reports: "Mass demonstrations are being held throughout Georgia, a provocation. Demonstrations are being held in Zugdidi, which is located close to the border".
At this stage, it is not clear when the de facto government is going to open the so-called border. The above-mentioned decision causes serious troubles for Georgians living in the Gali district, as it restricts their rights to leave the territory, isolates them and complicates their livelihoods.
