Chair of Ajara AR Govt to Lead Ruling Party Regional Office
Tornike Rizhvadze, the Chairman of Ajara AR Government, will lead the ruling party "Georgian Dream" regional office in Georgia’s Ajara region.
The meeting of the Ajara regional organization of the “Georgian Dream” party is underway in Batumi.
Chairman of the Party Bidzina Ivanishvili, Political Secretary Irakli Gharibashvili, Secretary-General Kakha Kaladze, and Executive Secretary Irakli Kobakhidze are attending the meeting at “Hilton” hotel.
According to the party’s press office, political council members and Bidzina Ivanishvili will make comments after the meeting.
Tornike Rizhvadze is a Georgian business executive and politician. On 21 July 2018, he was elected as Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara.
He worked for various private companies, as well as the Government of Ajara before taking the position the Deputy Minister of Energy of Georgia in July 2017. On December 26, 2017, he became CEO of the state-owned Georgian Energy Development Fund. After the Chairman of the Government of Ajara, Zurab Pataradze stepped down on 21 July 2018, Rizhvadze was nominated by he ruling GeorgianDream-Democratic Georgia party as his successor. His nomination was approved by Ajara's 21-member legislature on 21 July 2018.
