Kakhaber Abashidze Appointed as Director General of Walt Disney Company CIS

Kakhaber (Kakha) Abashidze has been appointed as the Director General of the Walt Disney Company CIS, reports AT.ge. He is to replace Marina Jigalova-Ozkan and head the Central and Eastern European, as well as CIS and Russian branches of the company. The predecessor of Abashidze has been occupying the given position for more than a decade – 13 years.

In case of Kakha Abashidze himself, he joined the team of the global Disney Company in 2008 as Vice President of Channel Distribution covering Italy, Iberia, CEE, Africa, Emerging Markets and Russia and CIS. In addition, since 2014 Kakhaber has also been leading Disney’s media distribution activities as a General Manager for Turkey, Greece, Israel and Middle East. However, Disney is not the first major company in the career of Abashidze. Prior to transforming to this corporation, he had been serving for Fox International Channels, as well as Jetix Europe.

The Walt Disney Company CIS is subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company EMEA region of Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International, which represents the world’s leading entertaining media platforms, unimaginably popular among millions of spectators across the globe, including minors, as well as their parents.
