160 Locals Protest, Force GR Fest Location Change

The festival of electronic music, GR Fest, was scheduled to take place in Petra Fortress, Ajara on August 10. As event organizers report, on the demand of 160 locals, the location of the festival will change while the set list and date will remain the same.

Organizers say that they received a signed petition from locals who claim that they will do whatever it takes to “save a holy land from immoral and unorthodox activities”. While they do have official permission from the Cultural Heritage Preservation Agency of Adjara to host the festival at the ruins of Petra Fortress, the organizers still plan on moving the festival to a different place, in order to avert any possible tension or escalation of events.
