The Success of Georgian Actor

The 25th Sarajevo Film Festival concluded today, on August 23, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The jury of Feature Film category, president of which was Ruben Östlund, the Swedish director and writer, awarded Levan Gelbakhiani with the HEART OF SARAJEVO FOR BEST ACTOR.

The nomination and win for the Best Actor is Gebakhiani’s second award for his part in Georgian-Swedish film “And Then We Danced”. In July, the Georgian actor got a prize at the Odessa Film Festival for his critically acclaimed portrayal of Merab, his character in “And Then We Danced”.

The world premiere of the film took place in Cannes, at the Cannes Film Festival in May. At the beginning of September, the movie will premiere in Sweden, after which the Levan Akin artwork is to be rented worldwide.
