Performance 111
The show that has been listed as one of the top 12 shows to see in this year’s Fringe by the Guardian newspaper will come alive on the stage of Kote Marjanishvili State Drama Theatre on September 23.
The moving performance titled ‘111’ between the two exceptional dancers Joel Brown and Eve Mutso will be presented to the audience within the frames of the Tbilisi International Festival of Theatre.
Why is it called ‘111’?
111 is the number of vertebrae that Joel and Eve have between them… hypothetically. Eve “moves like she has a hundred”, Joel’s spin is fused and he jokes he only has 11.
A bit about the performance:
111 is a powerful duet performed by the amazing Joel Brown and Eve Mutso. In their 45-minute-long performance, the duet explores their different strengths and vulnerabilities. Joel is a paraplegic dancer, self-trained, who dances with CandoCo – the UK’s leading inclusive dance company and Eve is a former principal dancer with Scottish Ballet.
Joel Brown and Eve Mutso first met at Tramway in Glasgow in 2015 when Scottish Ballet, Indepen-dance, and Marc Brew were exploring new work. From the first time they danced together, there was an instant rapport. 111 is the result. 111 is commissioned and supported by Unlimited, celebrating the work of disabled artists, with funding from Spirit of 2012; The Work Room; The Place; Made in Scotland; Creative Scotland and Tramway.
111 was selected to be part of the prestigious Made in Scotland showcase at the Edinburgh Fringe 2019 and has been listed as one of the top 12 shows to see in this year’s Fringe by the Guardian newspaper.
The tickets for the prestigious performance coming to Tbilisi are for sale on biletebi.ge. The price is, rather inviting, 30 GEL.
