Rehabilitation of Gudiashvili Square Underway
Kakha Kaladze, Mayor of Tbilisi has introduced the second stage of the rehabilitation of Gudiashvili Square, situated in the part of Old Tbilisi, to the government. Kaladze briefed about the project, noting that 26 buildings in total are planned to be restored within the scope of the initiative, 22 out of which carry the status of the cultural heritage.
14 buildings are undergoing the rehabilitation works currently, whereas 12 more construction will be restored later. The initiative commenced in spring of 2018, and is being implemented by the Tbilisi Development Fund. It is set to be completed by the autumn of 2020.
While presenting the project, the Mayor of Tbilisi focused on its importance and expressed gratitude to all those involved in it, including art historians and archaeologists.
