Head of EU Council, President of EU Commission Wish Success to New PM Gakharia

Donald Tusk, President of the European Council and Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission congratulated Giorgi Gakharia on becoming the Prime Minister of Georgia, his press office reports.

The congratulatory letter reads that the European Council and the European Commission remain committed to firmly supporting Georgia's territorial integrity and the Georgian Government's efforts toward engaging the populations in the conflict regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

"We are looking forward to cooperating with you for deepening our strong bilateral relations, furthering our political bonds under the Association Agreement, and carrying our larger-scale plans for economic integration. Your leadership is essential for further consolidating Georgia's democratic institutions and inclusive political environment," the letter reads.
