Salome Zurabishvili Hosts German President

The President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili hosts the President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier at the Atoneli Presidential Palace.

After the official welcoming ceremony, the Presidents will hold meetings in face-to-face and will make joint statements for the media.

The Presidential Administration reports that today Frank-Walter Steinmeier will meet with Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia, Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II and representatives of Georgian business sector. During the visit, he will lay a wreath at the Memorial of Heroes in Tbilisi.

Within the framework of the Georgian visit, the President of Germany will visit several wineries in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia, Alaverdi Monastery and the palace of King Erekle II.

The visit will end on October 8. 

Previously Steinmeier visited Georgia in 2016 when he served as foreign minister of Germany.
