Zelensky on Face-to-Face Meeting with Putin
President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky spoke to the media about the resolution of the ongoing conflict. He stressed on the significance of meeting the Russian President head-on if ending the war is on both party’s agenda. Although he also noted that the meeting format is only confined to the Normandy Four setting.
"We can meet [to negotiate the end of the war in Donbas] in two formats: the Normandy Four format and my face-to-face meeting with the President of the Russian Federation. Nobody talks about this face-to-face meeting [with Putin] because everyone is against it. I don't know [if such a meeting is possible]. I can't even say anything. I know one thing: this meeting should be held if we want to end the war" Zelensky told Ukrainian news outlet Ukrinfom.
Zelensky reminded the public and the media that he was elected by the citizens specifically to end the war. correspondingly Zelensky stated that his administration has a plan to effectively end the war in five years and additionally said that he will never change his vector about the issue.
"And I am grateful to our Western partners that we have at least something. Currently, everyone is ready for the Normandy format meeting," added Zelensky.
