Peter Moennig Visits Tbilisi

TSSA Contemporary Visual Culture Research Center presents and event on ‘Globalized Art’ by German artist Peter Moennig. The event will take place today at the Tbilisi State Academy of Art at 16:00.

Moennig attended the Dusseldorf Art Academy from 1973-78. There he learned visual arts as well as performance arts, trained under the watchful eye of Joseph Beuys, a performance artist, sculptor, installation artist, graphic artist and an art theorist.

Peter then went on to become a professor at Dusseldorf and Munster Academies and founded the ‘Peter Moennig Fund’ in 2012.

Nowadays Moennig is a curator and an artist as well as a famous person who’s work is loved all over the world. Since the start of 2015 he’s taken an active role in collaborations with Georgia.

The ‘Peter Moennig Fund’ aims to discover new talented artists in international art competitions.
