Ex-mayor of Tbilisi Elected as GNERC Chairman

The ex-mayor of Tbilisi Davit Narmania has been elected as the Chairman of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC).

The voting process took place today and his candidacy was supported by the commission members.

The former Mayor will chair the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission for the next three years.

An economist with an academic background, Narmania was Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia from 2012 to 2014.

He won the mayoral race in Tbilisi as the ruling Georgian Dream coalition candidate in July 2014.
