Georgian Defense Minister to Attend NATO Ministerial in Brussels

Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Garibashvili will attend the meetings of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) at the level of Defense Ministers at the NATO Headquarters, which is held in Brussels on October 24-25.

In particular, Minister Garibashvili will attend a meeting of the NAC with resolute support operational partner nations and potential operational partner nations on Friday.

He will speak on the importance of ensuring global security and Georgia’s contribution to this process through the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan. 

Within the framework of the Ministerial, the Georgian Defense Minister will meet with the NATO Secretary General, where the sides will discuss NATO-Georgia cooperation mechanisms. He will also meet with foreign counterparts and discuss bilateral defense cooperation issues with the Ministers of Defense of Finland, Poland, Germany, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
