Hubert Knirsch on Who Should Learn Lessons from the Berlin Wall
In the recent statement released by the Embassy of Germany to Georgia, the German Ambassador to Georgia, Hubert Knirsch comments on the self-isolation of South Ossetia. Ambassador Knirsch states that those responsible for Tskhinvali and Moscow should learn lessons of Berlin Wall.
The German Ambassador also thinks that the problems related to the crossing of the administrative line are another manifestation of the humanitarian consequences of the so-called “borderization”.
“Recently, we have often heard that the de facto South Ossetian authorities prohibit citizens from crossing the administrative line even in severe medical cases. This, once again, shows that there are the humanitarian consequences of the so-called “borderization”. It would be good if those in charge of Tskhinvali and Moscow learned the lessons of the Berlin Wall," the Ambassador claims in the statement released by the Embassy of Germany to Georgia.
The checkpoint of Akhalgori or the so-called Razdakhani has been closed for 2 months.
