Trump to Host Erdogan in the White House

The President of the US Donald Trump published a tweet on his official Twitter page on Wednesday, reporting his phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The tweet also reveals that the American President will host his Turkish counterpart in the White House on November 13.

“Just had a very good call with President @RTErdogan of Turkey. He informed me that they have captured numerous ISIS fighters that were reported to have escaped during the conflict – including a wife and sister of terrorist killer al Baghdadi…
...Also talked about their Border with Syria, the eradication of terrorism, the ending of hostilities with the Kurds, and many other topics. Look forward to seeing President Erdogan next Wednesday, November 13th at the @WhiteHouse,” read the tweets of President Trump.

On November 13 also, another big event is taking place in the White House; the first impeachment hearings are scheduled to kick off on the same day. “Ambassador William Taylor and Deputy Assistant Secretary George Kent will be the first televised TV witnesses, House Democrats also announced Wednesday,” The New York Post reports.

The relations between the United States and Turkey have been taking a hit since Turkey’s offense in Syria and just last week, the US House voting to recognize the Armenian Genocide. However, with President Trump’s tweets and Erdoğan visiting Washington next week, it’s been signaled that despite all, the Presidents of the two countries are on good terms.
