Mikheil Daushvili Appointed new Business Ombudsman
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia has appointed a new business ombudsman, the former lawyer of the Economic Council, Mikheil Daushvili, replacing Irakli Lekvinadze in the role.
"For me, it is a great honor to be Business Ombudsman,” Daushvili said, thanking the PM for his trust.
The new Business Ombudsman spoke about the main challenges in the country, highlighting the need to create new jobs and develop a social and supportive environment for the Georgian population. He said that in order to reach this goal, supporting and developing business is crucial.
"The main mandate and responsibility of a Business Ombudsman is to be a major supporter of business rights and legitimate interests,” he added.
Business Ombudsman Irakli Lekvinadze and Deputy Business Ombudsman Levan Kalandadze stepped down on November 11, noting that the decision was based on their own will.
