Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia on Vazha Gaprindashvili Case
Carl Hartzell, the Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia has spoken to the media about the situation of Vazha Gaprindashvili, the Georgian doctor illegally detained by the occupational forces in Tskhinvali.
The Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia said that they are dedicated to finding the solution to the troubling situation.
“ We are very much engaged in trying to find a solution like many others. We're still working on that through different means.
Like I said, many are engaged in trying to make sure that this illegal detention is rectified,“ the Ambassador has reported.
Ambassador Hartzell has also let the media in on the details of the steps that the international community is taking to help the cause of Doctor Gaprindashvili.
“We are soon moving to the next round of the Geneva talks where the US Special Representative will be present. I think this will be an opportunity to look at the overall situation and the problems that we have seen around the ABL, including the humanitarian problems, including the temporary closure of the crossing point,” Ambassador Hartzell reported to the media.
The famous Georgian Doctor Gaprindashvili was kidnapped by occupational forces on November 9, he has not yet been released despite demands from Georgian and international officials and society.
