EU Ambassador: Dialogue is Essential between the Government and the Opposition
EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell has commented on the recent political developments in the country, saying that to defuse the situation, dialogue is needed.
“We have invested a lot from the EU side, together with others, to facilitate the dialogue that took place last weekend. I said right after the dialogue and I repeat now, I was enthusiastic about the exchange of views that took place there,” said the EU Ambassador to Georgia.
Ambassador Hartzell reported that the EU representatives are currently in talks with the two sides.
“We are now in the process of dialogue with different participants to see what conclusions we can draw from this,“ reported the EU Ambassador.
Furthermore, the Ambassador believes that dialogue between the two parties should take place more actively without any violence.
“Dialogue is essential to calm the tensions and, of course, every time there is the use of violence, it is always a bad sign, which should be taken seriously and should be followed up appropriately”, Hartzell said.
