Hollywood Reporter Publishes Interview with Dito Tsintsadze
In an interview published on December 12 at HollywoodReporter.com, Georgian movie director Dito Tsintsadze discusses how 'Shindisi,' the country's entry in the best international feature race, brings attention to a "forgotten war" with Russia that, as he claims, has parallels with the Ukrainian border conflict.
The Georgian film director thinks that “there is a direct connection [between Shindisi] and the situation in Ukraine.“ He further underlined that the Georgian-Russian August war of 2008 was a sort of alarm that international society didn’t pay enough attention to: “I am sure if the international community had been more resistant towards the Russian invasion of Georgian territories in 2008, the aggression against Ukraine would not have happened or at least it wouldn't have gone as far,” said Tsintsadze.
Throughout the interview, Tsintsadze stressed the point of Russian occupation and the Russo-Georgian August war of 2008, revealing Shindisi’s mission.
“Shindisi has a sort of mission for my country — a mission to remind the international community about the almost forgotten war, which I think is the first European war in the 21st century. If it's nominated, there would be more attention towards the film and the Russian occupation,“ Tsintsadze told the Hollywood Reporter.
