PM: No Time to Politicize Tragedies, It’s Time for Concrete Steps

Georgian PM Giorgi Gakharia once again responded to the death of Luka Siradze and stated that this is no time for politicizing tragedies, as concrete, further steps must be taken for the welfare of children. 

“Much has been done by the state, especially by the Ministry of Justice, in the area of juvenile justice, but we need to take further steps. A special meeting on this problem will be held today at the Administration of the Government of Georgia and the meeting will be attended by the specialists of the field as well as NGOs and representatives of all state agencies. This will be the first step when we need to coordinate concrete steps, and I think today there is not the time to politicize tragic events, today there is the time to take concrete steps in order to make the efforts of the state, in the direction of improvement of education and systemic reforms, more effective and to avoid the similar tragic events,” PM Gakharia said.
