Tskhinvali Occupation Regime to Hold 'Trial' of Doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili Today
The so-called trial of illegally detained Georgian doctor Vazha Gaprindashvili has begun in the occupied region of Tskhinvali.
Today’s process is judged by the Court of ‘Leningori Region’ and though it was supposed to be open for the press to attend, it’s been reported that nobody was allowed in the building. It’s also been reported that Dr. Gaprindashvili is attending the so-called trial. The prior closed ‘trial’ for the Dr. Gaprindashvili case took place on December 13 and judge Fatima Parastaeva made the decision to keep Vazha Gaprindashvili in custody.
Georgian doctor Gaprindashvili was abducted on November 9. The so-called court sentenced him to two-month pretrial custody on November 15. He was charged with “illegally crossing the border”.
