President and Her Administration Spent over GEL 1,400.000 on Business Trips

The President and her administration spent over GEL 1 400 000 on business trips in 10 months of 2019. The agency InterPressNews requested the public information on business trip expenses from the President Administration.

In 10 months, the Administration of the President made up to 40 visits abroad, which in total cost GEL 1 417 534. The expenses of President Salome Zurabishvili’s business trips in particular amounted to GEL 341 800.

The President’s visit to the United States turned out to be the most expensive. During her visit to the US, the President's expenses amounted to GEL 144 616, and the Administration spent GEL 131 845 during the same visit. GEL 85 297.45 was the price of the visit of President Zurabishvili and her Administration to Paris, France. The smallest finances spent on presidential foreign visits was GEL 2 279 for a one-day trip to Copenhagen, Denmark.

These expenses only cover the period from January to October 2019.
